Brand Identity: Ukrainian Restaurant

Homey, warm, and inviting Mak is a restaurant that offers traditional cuisine in an authentic Ukrainian atmosphere. Inspired by the beautiful geometric patterns of Ukrainian embroidery. Mak is welcomes everybody to get a little taste of Ukraine. Each element of Mak's brand identity was inspired by Ukrainian culture. The word “Mak” translates to poppy flower which is a a symbol of love, strength, and protection. The colors and geometric patterns were designed based on traditional clothing called “vyshyvanka” (embroidered blouses). Also, Kyiv Type, created by Ukrainian typeface designer Dmytro Rastvortsev, aims to replicate historic Ukrainian fonts. Each element was carefully chosen to honor the richness of Ukrainian culture.
